Last Projects of Summer

If you want to hold on to summer a little bit longer, even though Labor Day has passed, here are two projects you can do with the help of your inkjet printer.

By printing out a favorite photo and using this downloadable template you can cut out the pieces to make...

... these Photo Lanterns. They are not safe for real candles, but you could maybe add LED lights. They look cool if you make a bunch and hang them on a patio. For more instructions and the downloadable template visit the Photo Lantern project page.

Another fun project is Photo Drink Umbrellas. Starting with a photo you like and following the instructions on the Photo Drink Umbrella project page, you can create personalized drink umbrellas that would be perfect for a backyard BBQ.

If you make them all from different photos it also helps your guest remember which drink is theirs.
